I have personally experienced the fear and anguish of not being able to provide a safe shelter for my child. The crisis of homelessness has only intensified with the escalating rental prices and now the added blow of the widespread flood crisis that affected the entire nation of Australia in 2022. It is a heartbreaking situation that demands urgent attention and support to ensure that no individual or family has to endure the hardships and dangers of being without a home.

Having personally endured the challenges of navigating the Federal Magistrate Courts for over 15 years, I have firsthand experience with the process, protocols, and legal complexities involved when a woman leaves a domestic violent relationship. I am well-acquainted with the groundwork and foundations that can provide support, but I also recognize the current limitations and lack of effective resolutions in addressing these issues. It is disheartening that in today's time, we still face significant hurdles in providing adequate assistance and protection to those affected by domestic violence.
